Big and atmospheric, Etenstijd Uden is both. This restaurant consists of several sections that together accommodate 750(!) covers. On weekends, it is almost always a full house. Through an extensive buffet, you take a culinary journey around the world at Etenstijd Uden. Each part of the restaurant has its own style, which attracts a wide audience. On weekdays, this audience does not yet know how to find the restaurant, but we are going to change that. To properly implement our digital marketing strategy, all we need is up-to-date content that perfectly portrays the business. Our first piece of advice was therefore: let us set up a content production!

Challenges

So Etenstijd Uden consists of several parts, five to be precise. Each with its own atmosphere and style. Each with its own characteristics. Together, they form one atmospheric whole. We wanted to portray this as realistically as possible, preferably with as many extras as possible. If it wasn't already clear, we would have to tackle this production bigger than ever before. Because when we do something, we do it well (and always better)!

Objective

A dinner at Etenstijd Uden is more than a dinner, it is a real getaway. This unique experience should be clearly visible in the images. It will feature everything Etenstijd Uden has to offer: from the large group tables to the romantic corners and from the business opportunities to the play paradise. After all, we want to appeal to all target groups. The images created must be suitable for use as online advertising and sufficient material is needed to create a basis for a new image bank.

Content Production

Recruiting extras

To capture the atmosphere in a good and realistic way, it was important to have many extras at the shoot. We always say: the more, the better! If a client needs help recruiting models, we are happy to think along with them. After all, we're not talking about a dozen models in this case ... make that 300! On Etenstijd Uden's socials, we posted an appeal. We then promoted this post so that extra many existing guests, website visitors and engaged users (audience that interacted with Etenstijd Uden) would see the message. Within two days, the 300 applications were in! There were even more applications than available spots. Extra special: participating in the shoot was not completely free of charge. Of course, the extras did receive a substantial discount as a reward for their participation.

Production

By comparison, the photo shoot we normally facilitate takes four hours. This version ended up taking over 11 hours. We combined the photo shoot with a video shoot, including a drone flight. The whole package, in other words! From The Fully Bookers, we put not one, but two production managers on the project. Beforehand, we compiled a shot list describing all the images needed. We also prepared a script, detailing what needed to be done when and by whom. In preparation, we held a pre-production meeting and went to see the location together with the photographer and videographer.

On the shoot day, we started preparations together with the staff at 11am. We first took pictures of the interior. This was followed by the mis-en-place and shots of dishes. Finally, it was the models' turn. This was done in two consecutive groups. In the first group, the focus was on (young) families and families, in the second group on groups of friends and business partners.

Thanks to the many extras, the atmosphere in the restaurant was the same as on a normal evening; everyone could 'just enjoy' dinner and each other's company. The extras were actually normal guests and therefore needed little instruction from the photographer and videographer. This made their work a lot easier and was conducive to the atmosphere, which is reflected in the final result. Thanks to this successful production, Etenstijd Uden has laid a foundation for a nice image bank. In the future, this can now be expanded relatively easily with smaller shoots.
