LESS RELIANCE ON BOOKING PLATFORMS
Hotel Restaurant ten Cate is a colourful and artsy family hotel in the heart of Emmen. Its website was outdated and its social media presence was minimal. Meanwhile, a dependence had developed on large booking platforms like Booking.com and Trivago, and competing hotels were just around the corner. Ten Cate came to us to defend their market share, get bookings in for the restaurant and hotel themselves and generate more business leads.

THE APPROACH: WEBSITE, SOCIAL MEDIA and GOOGLE
We started by drawing up a marketing strategy, with associated advertising campaigns and search engine optimisation, to reach the different target groups. We then realised a new, more commercial website. At the national level, we focused on generating leads for the hotel and corporate events. At the local level, we deployed campaigns for more restaurant visits and meetings. And on an ongoing basis, we deployed social media to keep the existing target group engaged and informed about developments at Hotel Restaurant ten Cate. Throughout the project, we made all activities measurable so that all results and the effectiveness of the chosen strategy are clearly visible.
THE RESULT: 50% HIGHER UTILISATION
Hotel Restaurant ten Cate now has a new website with the right look and focus on booking a room. Organic findability on Google has increased, presence on Facebook and LinkedIn has been provided and we have achieved the following results:
- 50% higher occupancy restaurant
- 58 additional room bookings in 3 months
- 38% increase in organic findability
- New website and active on Facebook and LinkedIn
- Greater brand awareness in the region
